Charting

Ona reads what you upload

When you add a photo or document to a patient's chart, Ona now reads it as it updates the patient's summary. Add it during a visit, and Ona reads it for that visit's summary and charting too. Every file now needs a name and can take a description, which Ona reads as well: set both as you upload, change them with Edit details, or edit the description right in the preview. Videos and files over 20 MB aren't read.

Confirm or dismiss it all at once

At the top of a patient's Overview and of a visit, Review Ona's suggestions counts what Ona has charted that's waiting for you, section by section. Confirm all keeps every suggestion, and Dismiss all removes them after asking first. To answer one section at a time, use the buttons beside suggested by Ona under that section. Records you've confirmed or added yourself are never touched.

Everything Ona charted, answered in one go.

Patients

The whole patient at a glance

Rest the pointer on a patient's name in the chart header or the visit bar, and a card opens with their legal name, tags, MRN, phone and email, emergency contact, coverage and memberships. All patient details opens their full details beside the chart.

The record at a glance, without leaving the page.

The name they go by

Add a Preferred name and Pronouns in a patient's details or on their settings page. The chart header and visit bar then show the name they go by, with their pronouns beside it. Everywhere else, including documents and claims, keeps their legal name.

Also in patients

  • Referring provider in patient details. A patient's details now show the Referring provider from their newest referral. When a visit without a referral of its own gets a claim, that referral is linked to the visit, so Box 17 is filled in for you. For a referral made by phone or on paper, add the provider by hand.
  • Tags where you need them. Edit a patient's tags right in their details panel, or in the new Tags card on their settings page.

New

Booking

One service, several locations

Open a service under Services and list where it's offered under Visit defaults → Locations: sites, rooms or both. The first one is the default for visits your team books. Leave it empty if the service isn't tied to one place.

Patients choose where to go

When your practice has more than one location, patients can filter your booking page by location. For an in-person visit offered at more than one, they choose Where you'd like to be seen before they confirm, and a location that can't take that time can't be picked. Patients see your locations, never your rooms.

Also in booking

  • A daily limit per service. Set Visits per day under a service's Availability to cap how many visits it takes in a day, across all clinicians. Online booking stops offering it once the limit is reached, and your team can still book it.
  • Every location in the footer. With two or more locations, the footer of your booking page and other patient pages lists each one with its address.

New

Calendars

See who can take a service, and when

Pick a service from All services at the top of Calendars. Open hours narrow to when and where that service is offered, and visits for other services fade back, though their time stays taken. Clinicians and locations that don't offer it are marked Not assigned or Not offered, and you can still book them. A visit you start from the filtered calendar already has that service picked.

Only the hours that service can be booked.

New

Forms and consents

A parent or guardian signs for the patient

Every consent and form now asks who is signing. On an emailed link or the clinic tablet, I'm signing on behalf of … takes the signer's name and relationship, and starts ticked when the patient is under 18. A guardian signing from their own portal account doesn't type anything, because their name comes from their account. The signed copy and its PDF say who signed on the patient's behalf.

Flags that weigh more than one answer

Under Screening in a form, a flag can now hold more than one condition: choose Add condition, then join them with and or or. A condition can test a score or a question's answer, such as one option being picked, so a flag fires on a pattern rather than a single total. The Mood Disorder Questionnaire (MDQ), new in the forms library, uses this for its positive screen.

Improved

Services

Services, packages and memberships, by category

Services now holds your services, packages and memberships in one place, each in its own list, with one search across them. Give any of them a Category, and it's listed under Categories beside everything else filed there. Online booking sets the order of your services and packages on your booking page, and which services, packages and memberships patients see.

And more

Phone calls

  • Missed calls can notify someone else. Under Settings → Omnichannel → Phone calls, Who is notified about missed calls chooses who hears about missed calls and voicemails, including the unread-message email or text, apart from who the phone rings for. It starts as Same as who answers.

AI receptionist

  • Some services book online only. The AI receptionist no longer books a service that takes payment or asks screening questions at booking. It tells callers where to book online instead.

Practice branding

  • Your practice in link previews. When someone shares a link to your booking page or another page patients see, the preview shows your logo, practice name and colors.

Fixed

  • Packages on your booking page. Patients can now book every visit a package includes, even for a service you don't list on its own. Before, those visits couldn't be booked online.
