Tasks on a fax, and referrals that carry the chart with them
The follow-up a fax creates is now written down on the fax itself, and an outgoing referral can enclose notes, labs, consents and forms from the patient's chart in one fax.

A fax arrives, a task comes with it
Most faxes ask for something: call the patient, book a visit, get the results in front of a clinician. That follow-up used to live in your head. Now it lives on the fax.
Every fax carries a tasks badge — press T or click it to read what's open and add to it. A task started here comes already linked to the fax and to its patient, so all you type is the title.

Linking a fax to the right patient
Link patient used to offer only the charts the fax itself pointed at — and on a fax that named nobody, it offered nothing at all. It now searches your whole patient list, with the fax's own matches first.
If the chart doesn't exist yet, Create new patient builds it from what the fax carried. The patient chip also opens Go to patient and Unlink patient, for when a fax lands on the wrong chart.

A referral that carries the chart with it
A referral letter rarely stands on its own — the specialist wants the note, the labs, the signed consent. The referral editor now has an Attachments field under Recipient, and what you put there is faxed with the letter as one document.
Add more searches the patient's chart for notes, forms, consents, interviews, lab reports and incoming referrals, with everything from this visit grouped at the top. Only finished documents are offered, and anything that can't be faxed says why. Up to nine go out with a letter.
