Billing
Collect the copay by card or by link
Collect payment on a visit now offers Paid onsite, Card on file and Payment link. A payment link comes with a QR code the patient can scan at the desk, or a link to copy and text them. A card payment no longer waits for the claim. The money is held on the patient's account until the payer decides, then goes toward what they owe.
Credit that waits on the patient's account
A patient's Invoices page now shows their Balance: what's Outstanding, what's On account and any Refund due. Money held for them, such as a copay collected before the claim settles, is listed under Credit on account, where you can Apply it to an invoice or Refund it. When an invoice is overpaid, choose Keep on account instead of refunding. Switch to Activity to see every payment, credit and refund, day by day.
Bring the Stripe account you already have
Already take payments with Stripe? Under Settings → Billing → Stripe, choose Connect existing account to link it and keep its history, payouts and bank details. Create new account sets up a new one, as before.
Also in billing
- Save the card when they pay. Turn on Offer to save the card under Settings → Billing → Stripe, and patients who pay an invoice online can keep that card on file. You can also hide Stripe Link when patients add a card.
- Ready to send. When the payer pays, Ona adds the claim's lines to the visit's invoice and issues it without emailing the patient. It waits under Ready to send until you choose Send to patient.
- Invoices as a board. Switch Invoices to Board to see a column per status, with its totals.
- Admin, not Billing. In a patient's chart, Invoices, Claims and Care Time now sit under Admin in the sidebar. The saved card has its own Payment Method section in the patient's settings.

Spam numbers
Keep robocalls and spam texts out of the inbox
Choose Mark as spam from a conversation's menu, or add a number under Settings → Omnichannel → Spam numbers. Texts from that number go to a Spam section without notifying anyone or creating a lead, and its calls are rejected before they ring. You can still text or call it yourself, and Not spam undoes it. If the number is saved on a patient, Ona tells you before it comes off their record.
Improved
Consents and forms
Hundreds of consents and forms to start from
The library on the Consents and Forms pages now holds more than 250 consents and 150 forms, from registration and medical history to specialty questionnaires. Narrow it by Specialty and Category, or search. Consents marked Varies by state need checking against your state's rules. Forms marked Clinician completes are for your team to fill in, not patients.
Improved
Cancellation fees
A fee for late reschedules
Turn on Charge a reschedule fee under Settings → Billing → Cancellation Fees, with its own Reschedule window and amount. When your team moves a visit inside the window, Ona asks whether to charge it. Patients who move their own visit, in the portal or with the AI receptionist, hear or see the fee first. Changing only the clinician, room or length is free.
Improved
AI receptionist
A receptionist that sounds more natural
The AI receptionist now answers in shorter sentences, with a warmer voice. It works in your practice's time zone, so it names the right day for every opening, and it says whether a visit is in person or by video. When Register as a patient is chosen under New callers, it also asks for the caller's email and home address.
And more
Leads
- Export to CSV. On the Leads page, choose Export as CSV to download every lead that matches your filters.
Online booking
- Straight to a time. A patient who passes a service's screening now goes straight to picking a time, without a message in between. When they don't qualify is the only message left to write.
Fixed
- Recordings on sign-out. Signing out or going back while a visit is recording now asks first. Before, the recording was lost.
- Invoices with nothing to pay. An invoice with nothing left to pay, such as one the payer covered in full or a $0 visit, is now marked paid, and its visit and claim are closed. Before, it stayed open.
- CCM codes. Closing a CCM billing period now produces codes for practices using the default code ladder. Before, it produced none.
