Ordering labs through Fullscript
Order labs from the Fullscript catalog inside the patient chart, and open the results PDF when it comes back.
Fullscript's lab catalog includes both routine panels and specialty tests, such as DUTCH hormone testing. The order, and any payment for it, is handled in Fullscript. Ona keeps the order in the patient's Lab Orders list and links through to the results.
Connecting Fullscript
- Go to Settings → Dispensary → Labs and turn Labs on.
- Open Connect Fullscript (also at Settings → Dispensary → Fullscript).
- Select Connect Fullscript and sign in to your Fullscript practitioner account in the pop-up. The card shows Connected with your Practitioner ID.
The same connection powers supplement recommendations. Reconnect Fullscript signs in again if the connection lapses, and Disconnect Fullscript removes it.
Placing an order
- Open the patient and go to Lab Orders in the Dispensary section.
- Select Order labs → Order via Fullscript. If the menu shows Connect Fullscript instead, the practice isn't connected yet.
The Fullscript catalog opens in a panel over the chart.
- Search the catalog, or narrow it with Company, Health category, Sample type, Category, Favorites and Specialty tests.
- Select Add to order next to each test. The price is shown on each row.
- Select Review draft to check the plan, then activate it in Fullscript.
Once the plan is activated, Ona syncs it, and the order appears in Lab Orders labelled Fullscript. If it doesn't show up straight away, use the refresh button, or Full sync with Fullscript, in the Lab Orders header.
Unordered recommendations
If you recommended labs in Fullscript, but the patient hasn't ordered them yet, a banner on Lab Orders shows how many are outstanding. Review in Fullscript opens them.
Statuses and results
Fullscript orders move through Pending, Processing and In Progress to Results available and Completed, or Cancelled.
When results are available, select the eye icon on the order row (View results). The results PDF opens in Ona, with Download and Open in Fullscript.
