Using Ona on your phone

Dashboard on a phone shows a compact schedule view for quick checks. The full Ona workspace is still designed for larger screens, so some areas show Desktop only and ask you to switch to a desktop or laptop.

What can I use on my phone?

Open Dashboard: on a phone, tap Dashboard in the mobile tab bar. Ona shows a mobile version of your day instead of the full desktop widget dashboard. Use it to check visits, search the loaded visit list, and open a visit when the visit card links to it.

The mobile Dashboard shows your organization header, account menu, today’s greeting, and visit cards. The visit area can show Upcoming visits, Recent visits, or Search results. Visits happening now appear in a Live now group when they are live.

If you open a dashboard area that is not available on mobile, Ona shows Desktop only with this message: “This dashboard feature is not available on mobile yet. Use Dashboard or Chats below, or switch to desktop.” The mobile tab bar stays available at the bottom so you can move back to a mobile-supported area.

When should I use Ona on my phone?

Open Dashboard on a phone by tapping Dashboard in the mobile tab bar when you need a quick schedule check between rooms or away from your desk. It is best for answering: what is live now, what is next, what happened recently, and which visit you need to open.

The mobile schedule includes date-range chips and search. Search checks the loaded visits by patient, visit, or location. The date-range chips let you move between the schedule ranges available on the mobile Dashboard, including recent past visits when they are loaded.

For the full dashboard, dashboard widgets, layout editing, and any area that shows Desktop only, use a desktop or laptop. The full dashboard requires a screen at least 1024px wide.

How does the mobile Dashboard work?

Open Dashboard on a phone by tapping Dashboard in the mobile tab bar. Ona loads visits from today forward, plus a short list of recently past visits. The list is sorted by scheduled time. Live visits appear separately at the top when they are happening now.

Each visit card can show the visit title, patient name, date, time, status, modality, and location when available. Online visits that are live or still in a pre-visit status can show a join action when a meeting link is available.

How is the desktop Dashboard different?

On a desktop or laptop, in the left sidebar, click Dashboard. The dashboard opens the full widget dashboard. The dashboard surface depends on your role. Owners and admins get the full dashboard surface, including Settings links. Staff get the operational dashboard surface without organization Settings. Clinicians get a dashboard scoped to their own patients and visits.

The desktop dashboard includes widgets, a dashboard-wide time range, and layout customization. You can choose ranges such as Today, Last 7 days, Last 30 days, Last 90 days, and Last 12 months. You can also click Customize to enter edit mode, then add, resize, remove, reset, or rearrange widgets. Click Done to save.

If you reset to the default layout and save, Ona uses the default dashboard layout for your role.

What are the limits on mobile?

Open a mobile-supported area on a phone by tapping Dashboard or Chats in the mobile tab bar. Some dashboard areas are not available on mobile yet. When that happens, Ona shows Desktop only and keeps the mobile tab bar available so you can return to a mobile-supported area.

The full dashboard also shows Desktop only on screens below the desktop size. It says the dashboard is designed for larger screens and requires a minimum 1024px screen width.

Mobile is for quick access, not full workspace management. Use a desktop or laptop for the full dashboard, dashboard widgets, and workflows that need more screen space.

Common questions

Can I use Ona on my phone?

Yes. On a phone, tap Dashboard in the mobile tab bar to use the mobile schedule view. Some dashboard areas are still desktop-only.

Why do I see Desktop only?

You are in an area that is not available on mobile, or your screen is below the full-dashboard width. Switch to a desktop or laptop for that area.

Can I open a visit from my phone?

Yes, when the visit card has a visit link. On a phone, tap Dashboard in the mobile tab bar, then tap the visit card to open it.

Can I join a telehealth visit from my phone?

On a phone, tap Dashboard in the mobile tab bar. Online visits can show a join action when the visit is live or in a pre-visit status and a meeting link is available.

Can I customize dashboard widgets from my phone?

No. Dashboard widget customization is part of the desktop dashboard. On a desktop or laptop, in the left sidebar, click Dashboard, then click Customize to edit your layout.
