Reading assessment results
Open a patient interview from the chart, review its Summary, read the Conversation, and check Clinical Records linked to that interview.
Interview results live in the patient's chart on Interviews. A completed interview can include a generated Summary, the full Conversation, and Clinical Records linked to that interview.
How do I open interview results from a patient chart?
In the left sidebar, click Patients. Click the patient's name, then click Interviews in the patient chart. Use this page to find assigned interviews and open completed results.
- Find the interview in Scheduled, In progress, Completed or Cancelled.
- Select a completed interview row.
- Review Summary if results are ready.
- Select Conversation to read the interview messages.
- Select Clinical Records to review records linked to the interview.
On desktop, the interview opens in a detail panel when that view is available. On narrower screens, it opens in a sheet.
How do I read the Summary tab?
In the left sidebar, click Patients. Click the patient's name, click Interviews, then select a completed interview. The Summary tab is the first place to look when an interview has generated results.
The summary can include two sections:
| Section | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Working Well | Generated points in the positive section of the summary. |
| Areas of Attention | Generated points in the attention section of the summary. |
Each section shows a count and a list of summarized points. Use Conversation when you need the original exchange or uploaded context.
If the interview is completed but the summary is not ready, the row or detail view shows Generating insights…. If an interview has no generated result content, the Summary tab has no summary to show.
How do I review the interview conversation?
In the left sidebar, click Patients. Click the patient's name, click Interviews, select the interview, then click Conversation. Use this tab when you need the full exchange instead of the summary.
The conversation shows the messages from the interview. Attached images can appear in the message, and attached files can appear as downloadable document links.
If there are no messages yet, the tab says No messages yet. Complete the interview to see the conversation here. If the conversation cannot load, the tab shows Could not load conversation. Please try again.
How do I review clinical records from an interview?
In the left sidebar, click Patients. Click the patient's name, click Interviews, select the interview, then click Clinical Records. Use this tab to review structured records associated with that interview.
The tab can show linked Diagnoses, Observations, Allergies and Medications. If there is not enough context to load linked records, the tab says Clinical records linked to this interview will appear here when available.
For more on these record types, see Diagnoses, medications, and allergies and Observations and vitals.
How do I use sharing actions for an interview?
In the left sidebar, click Patients. Click the patient's name, click Interviews, select the interview, then open the sharing or actions menu in the interview header or row.
- Open the interview's actions menu, or open the share menu in the interview header.
- Choose the available sharing action.
- Follow the prompts in the dialog that opens.
Sharing actions appear only when they are available for that interview.
What can't I do here?
In the left sidebar, click Patients, click the patient's name, then click Interviews in the patient chart. Interview result actions are limited in these ways:
- Scheduled and cancelled interviews do not open into the result detail view.
- An interview must be completed before Summary can show generated insights.
- A completed interview may show Generating insights… before its summary is available.
- Resend link is available for in-progress interviews, not completed ones.
- Send now and Cancel are available for scheduled interviews.
- Archive hides an interview from the active list.
Common questions
Why don't I see a Summary for a completed interview?
The summary may still be generating. While that is happening, Ona shows Generating insights…. If the interview does not have generated result content, there is no summary content to display.
What does Results ready mean?
Results ready means the completed interview has a generated summary available. In the left sidebar, click Patients, click the patient's name, click Interviews, then select the row to review Working Well and Areas of Attention.
Can I read the patient's original answers?
Yes. In the left sidebar, click Patients, click the patient's name, click Interviews, select the interview, and select Conversation to see the interview messages and any attachments that can be loaded.
Can I open an interview before the patient finishes it?
Yes. In the left sidebar, click Patients, click the patient's name, click Interviews, then select an in-progress interview from the list. Conversation may show messages if they exist, and Summary tells you to complete the interview before insights appear.
Can I use the interview summary to update the chart?
In the left sidebar, click Patients, click the patient's name, then click Interviews. Use Clinical Records to review linked diagnoses, observations, allergies and medications. Review those records before relying on them in the chart.
