Labs and supplements are managed from Settings → Dispensary. Use these settings to decide which dispensary features your organization uses, then manage reusable supplement templates from the supplement templates page after Supplements is enabled.

How do I turn on Labs?

Use Settings → Dispensary → Labs to add lab tools to patient and visit pages.

  1. In the left sidebar, click Settings. In the settings menu, under Dispensary, click Labs.
  2. Turn on Labs.
  3. Under Integrations, select Connect Junction if you want to provision lab ordering through Junction.
  4. Select Connect Fullscript if you want to order Fullscript labs from the patient chart.

When Labs is on, Ona adds Lab Reports and Lab Orders to patient and visit pages, and lab reports to the patient portal.

How do I turn on Supplements?

Use Settings → Dispensary → Supplements to add supplement workflows to patient and visit pages.

The Supplements settings page shows the Supplements feature toggle and integration setup options.
  1. In the left sidebar, click Settings. In the settings menu, under Dispensary, click Supplements.
  2. Turn on Supplements.
  3. Under Integrations, select Connect Fullscript if you want to recommend supplements through your Fullscript dispensary.

When Supplements is on, Ona adds the Supplements page to patient and visit pages and turns on the Supplements charting section.

How do I connect Fullscript?

Use Settings → Dispensary → Fullscript to connect a Fullscript practitioner account for dispensary workflows. The Fullscript page is available when either Labs or Supplements is enabled.

1Settings2Fullscript
  1. In the left sidebar, click Settings. In the settings menu, under Dispensary, click Fullscript.

  3. Select Disconnect Fullscript to remove the connection.

When Fullscript is disconnected, dispensary workflows for this admin account stop using that practitioner connection until you connect again.

How do I create a supplement template?

Use Supplement Templates to build reusable supplement groups your team can chart on a patient in one step. Supplements must be enabled before this page opens.

  1. In the left sidebar, click Library, then click Supplements.
  2. Select New template.
  3. Enter the template name.
  4. Use When to use to describe when your team should choose the template. This note is internal and is not copied onto a patient's chart.
  5. Select Add supplement.
  6. Search for an ingredient, brand, or product, or type a custom supplement, then select Add.
  7. Add a dose amount, dose unit, frequency, instructions, or note as needed.
  8. Select Create template.

The template is saved and can be applied from any patient's Supplements.

How do I edit, duplicate, retire, restore, or delete a supplement template?

Use Supplement Templates to maintain the templates your team applies to patient charts.

  1. In the left sidebar, click Library, then click Supplements.
  2. Select a template card to edit its name, When to use, supplements, order, dose details, instructions, or notes.
  3. Select Save to keep edits, or Discard to undo unsaved edits.
  4. Open the template card's actions menu.
  5. Select Duplicate, Retire, Restore, or Delete.
  6. Confirm Delete if you choose to remove the template.

Retired templates stay visible on the templates page, but are hidden when applying a template. Deleted templates are removed from your templates. Supplements already charted from a deleted template stay on those patients' charts.

How do I import a supplement template from the library?

Use the Library on Supplement Templates to start from guideline-based protocols with cited doses. Review imported doses before use.

1Supplements and doses2Reference3Import4Close
  1. In the left sidebar, click Library, then click Supplements.
  2. In Library, search by name or supplement, or filter by All, Foundations, Women’s health, Deficiency, Digestive, Clinical, or Sleep & performance.
  3. Select Preview to review the supplements, doses, instructions, notes, and references.
  4. Select Import.
  5. Select Open from the card, or Open template from the preview, to edit your imported copy.
  6. Review doses and swap in the products you stock before using the template.

Imported templates become part of your organization's supplement templates. If a library template is already imported, the card shows Open and the preview shows Open template instead of another import action.

What can't I do here?

In dispensary settings (in the left sidebar, click Settings, then use Dispensary) and supplement templates (in the left sidebar, click Library, then click Supplements), access and actions are limited in these ways:

  • Only owners and admins can use Settings → Dispensary.
  • Fullscript and Junction settings redirect back to Dispensary if both Labs and Supplements are off.
  • Supplement Templates redirects to Settings → Dispensary → Supplements when Supplements is off.
  • A supplement template cannot be saved until it has a name and at least one supplement.
  • An already imported library template shows Open or Open template instead of another import action.
