Signing in and resetting your password
Sign in to Ona, create an account when you are invited, verify your email, accept a team invitation, and reset a forgotten password.
Use your organization's Ona sign-in page to access your account. If you were invited to join a practice, start from the invitation link so Ona can connect your account to the correct organization.
How do I sign in to Ona?
Use the Ona sign-in page when you already have an account. You can sign in with email and password, Google or Apple.
- Open your organization's Ona sign-in page.
- Select Google or Apple, or enter your Email and Password.
- If you use email and password, select Sign in.
- If Ona asks for two-step verification, enter the 6-digit code from your authenticator app and select Verify.
Ona opens your account after sign-in. If you were trying to open a specific page, Ona returns you there when that sign-in flow supports it.
If you see You were logged out due to inactivity, sign in again. Ona signs out inactive sessions to protect patient data.
How do I create an Ona account?
Create an account from the Ona sign-up page when an invitation or account setup flow asks you to. You can create an account with Google, Apple, or email and password.
- Open the Ona sign-up page from the prompt or invitation link.
- Select Google or Apple, or enter your Email and Password.
- For email and password, use a password with at least 12 characters, uppercase and lowercase letters, a number, and a symbol.
- Check I agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
- Select Create account.
If you create an account with email and password, Ona sends a verification email before you continue. Google and Apple sign-up continue through the provider's sign-in flow.
How do I verify my email address?
Ona asks you to verify your email after email-and-password sign-up, and when an invitation needs a verified address. The verification email is sent automatically.
- Keep the Ona Check your email screen open.
- Open the verification email sent to your account address.
- Select the verification link in the email.
- Return to Ona if the browser opens the link in another tab.
When verification succeeds, Ona shows Email verified and continues automatically. If the Check your email screen is still open, it waits for verification and then carries on.
If the email does not arrive, select Resend email or Resend verification email, depending on the screen you are on.
How do I reset my password?
Reset your password from the Ona sign-in page if you use email and password. If your account was created with Google or Apple, use that provider instead.
- Open your organization's Ona sign-in page and select Forgot password?.
- Enter your Email.
- Select Send reset link.
- Open the reset email and follow the link to set a new password.
After Ona sends the reset email, the screen shows Check your email. If it does not appear within a few minutes, check your spam folder.
How do I accept a team invitation?
Use the invitation link from your practice to connect your account to that organization. The invitation is tied to the email address it was sent to.
- Open the invitation link.
- Choose Sign in if you already have an account, or Create account if you need one.
- Sign in or create the account using the invited email address.
- If Ona asks you to verify your email, open the verification email and complete verification.
- Select Accept invitation if Ona shows the signed-in account card.
- Select Go to dashboard when Ona shows You're in.
If you are signed in with a different email address, Ona shows Different email address. Select Sign out and use different account, then sign in with the invited address.
What can't I do here?
Ona limits sign-in and account setup in these ways:
- You cannot accept a team invitation with a different email address than the one invited.
- You cannot create an email-and-password account until the password meets the requirements and the terms checkbox is selected.
- You cannot skip email verification when Ona requires it before continuing.
- You cannot continue with an expired, invalid, or missing verification link. From the Check your email screen, request a new email.
- You cannot sign in with a different method than the one used to create the account. If Ona points you to Google, Apple, or email and password, use that method.
- You cannot bypass two-step verification when it is enabled on your account.
